"Ars Longa, Vita Brevis"

One of the greatest gifts of a good teacher is allowing you to see the potential in yourself. I have had many such teachers throughout my life, and strive to do the same for my students. For me, art has been a constant source of awe, wonder and delight. It is a universal language which unites all humanity. It reflects on our present, binds us to our past, and helps us to envision our future. Through art projects, children can travel to countries across the globe, or even back in time to ancient civilizations. Once students realize that their imagination is unique, they have started on the path to realizing that they are special and that their potential is unlimited.

Whether it is painting a watercolor, going to a show at a museum, or simply gazing at a beautiful sunset, art is ever-present in my life.  It is a gift that has been nurtured by my family and by the wonderful teachers who have inspired me throughout the years. They have helped me to see the art in life, and I am grateful to them for their gift.
