Martin Urbach

"Teach the individual, not the subject"

Drummer Martin (pronounced mar-TEEN) Urbach blends the rhythms of his native Bolivia with elements of classical, rock, blues, and avant-garde to add color to his sophisticated jazz grooves.

Martin started playing drums after giving up the electric guitar due to having way too chubby fingers! However, Martin's dream of becoming a rock-star has been fulfilled! Through the art of teaching, Martin is able to give back (to both the music and other people) all the joy and happiness that music has brought into his own life.

Teaching credits include: The New Orleans and New York public school system, "Crear" arts center in Bolivia, The Music Together program for toddlers and their caregivers, The Manhattan School of Music Summer Camp
